Traeth Llyfn Beach

North West Pembrokeshire, near St David’s, SA62

Traeth Llyn is a beautiful but remote sandy beach situated between Abereiddy and Porthgain, only accessible from the coastal path. Very steep open tread metal steps (not suitable for small paws) provide access to the beach from the cliff top, but once there it’s paradise for dogs to run off lead and explore.

The steps are very steep, my German Shepherd trembled with fear all the way down, and it’s a long way! However, once there it is indeed a dogs paradise. the onyl draw back is a lack of natural stream / freshwater, so I suggest you take a supply for your dog to avoid them drinking too much sea water, which proved disasterous for poor old ‘Zico’ on the walk home; thank goodness we weren’t walking too close behind him 😉
