Pwllgwaelod Beach

Pwllgwaelod Beach

North Pembrokeshire, Dinas Cross, near Newport, SA42 0SE

Pwllgwaelod, located on Dinas Head, is a small sandy cove with cliffs on either side and views across the water to Fishguard Harbour. It’s the perfect spot to while away a summer’s afternoon with the added bonus of the Old Sailors pub just a stone’s throw from the beach. The very scenic walk around Dinas Head (approx. 3 miles) can start at either Pwllgwaelod, or the village of Cwm-yr-Eglwys. The route climbs steeply, and is a test for the leg muscles whichever way round you do it, but the views across Cardigan Bay are stupendous.

NOTE: Please be aware that Dinas Island accommodates sheep and cattle so take care to keep dogs under control.

  Dog friendly all year!
