Coppet Hall Beach

South Pembrokeshire, Saundersfoot, near Tenby, SA69 9AJ

Coppet Hall is a small sandy beach situated at the end of the busier Saundersfoot beach with pebbles at the high tide line and a wide flat area of sand at low tide, which is ideal for some doggy ball games. From here it’s only a short walk through one of the old railway tunnels to Wiseman’s Bridge. The new visitor centre and car park means that this beach is likely to be very crowded during the summer months.

    Hi
I have just booked a week in Saundersfoot from the 10th September, but it seems there are restrictions on all the beaches to take a dog during this time, could you let me know if there is any beaches that will allow dogs durin this time?
    Many Thanks

      Hi Lena,

Check out ‘All Beaches and Walks’ page which lists all the beaches without dog restrictions. Glen Beach, Monkstone Beach and Wiseman’s Bridge are either side of Saundersfoot and easily accessible on foot.

      Best wishes

      Hello Sarah,

Now that the new development has been finished, car park, restaurant etc, a permanent dog ban has been imposed on the beach between 1st May and 30th September. I’ve updated this page accordingly. Hopefully you and your dog can take advantage of the other dog friendly beaches in the area.

      Best wishes
      Dog Rover!

We were worried about the new visitors centre for 2014.

Not quite complete yet (April 2014) but looking good.

Beach still has voluntary ban 10am to 5pm May to Sept in place.

Just been to Coppit Hall, there is a voluntary dog ban 10 am to 5 pm from May to September. A shame really as it’s a good dog beach

Thanks for the update Barbara. It is indeed a shame and perhaps it’s possible it will become a compulsory ban in the future with the opening of the new visitor centre and car park.

      All the best,
      Dog Rover!

When I visited Coppett Hall Beach around March this year, there are some changes to the car park with what appears to be significant improvements. Do you know if restrictions for dogs on the beach will now be applied as it would appear to want to encourage more tourists to the beach? Hope not it’s a great beach for dogs.

The Council website does not show any restrictions for dog walking on Coppet Hall, but I will keep checking and update this site if there are any changes. I too hope the beach will still remain accessible all year.
