Penally Beach

South Pembrokeshire, Penally, near Tenby, SA70 7PS

An extension of Tenby South Beach, Penally is sand and shingle backed by dunes. If you park at the railway station, access is via a tarmac path passing a rifle range (most often quiet) and the golf course. Penally is very popular with dog walkers, especially in the summer when dog restrictions are in force on Tenby beaches. There is ample space for dogs to run, swim and dig. Easy access to the coast path westwards to Lydstep (approx. 2 miles), a pleasant walk on mostly level terrain with panoramic views.

I found your website yesterday, with 2 days left of our holiday. I’m so glad I did. We’ve just spent the afternoon at Penally beach. It was exactly as you described it. A great find, after seeing so many beaches with dog restrictions this week. Thanks for the info, now to find something to do tomorrow! 😄

Just spent a week in Pembrokeshire. Penally has been our favourite beach. The dogs have loved it! Great coastal path walk along the cliffs towards Lydstep but dogs should be on leads for their own safety.

Planning our first beach holiday with our 2 ridgebacks. This site is invaluable.

This is a really useful site! We have a dog and are always trying to find out if dogs are allowed on particular beaches. I have saved this on my desktop!
