Swanlake Bay

South Pembrokeshire, Jameston, Manorbier, near Tenby, SA70 8QP

Situated between Freshwater East and Manorbier Bay and only accessible from the coastal path, Swanlake Bay is predominantly shingle but at low tide it reveals golden sands and rock pools backed by low cliffs. This beach can be deserted even in the summer so it’s the ideal location for agile dogs and owners to have some fun swimming and exploring.

dog friendlyDog friendly all year!

car parkingAccess to the beach is down a farm track courtesy of Swanlake Bay Guest House (SA70 8QP) with parking permissible in the fields above the cliff. Nominal charge may apply. Alternatively, park at Manorbier and walk to Swanlake along the coastal path (approx 1 ½ miles).

The tide was out when we arrived Mabell and I had such fun on the deserted beach running and playing in the sea. This is such a precious little beach, it was definitely a challenge walking from Freshwater East to Swanlake Bay with a 17 month old chocolate Labrador along the coastal path. There is one bit which is more of a scramble down. Also If the cows are in the field they are separated from the path by an electric fence, which is a bonus especially for me as Im a little nervous of cows. 😊.
