West Pembrokeshire, near St David’s, SA62 6PS
The popular Whitesands Bay is the ‘town beach’ of St David’s. It’s a big scoop of sand at low tide and a magnet for families and surfers as well as dog walkers, so expect it to be busy. Despite being so well known it’s still one of the best beaches in Wales and definitely worth a visit. It’s a pleasant 10-15 minute walk along the coast path to the smaller secluded and less crowded Porthmelgan Beach, or head in the opposite direction to the sandy cove of Porthselau.
