West Pembrokeshire, near St David’s, SA62 6PS
Whitesands is a large open bay with a lovely sandy beach at low tide. It’s also a magnet for families and surfers as well as dog walkers so expect it to be busy. With the dog ban in force during the summer, dogs should make the best of this beach through the winter months. It’s a pleasant 10-15 minute walk along the coast path to the smaller secluded and less crowded Porthmelgan Beach, or head in the opposite direction to the sandy cove of Porthselau.
No dogs 1st May to 30th September .
